Q: What is the typical age and level of singers at VIP?
A: VIP has no age limit. We encourage anyone who is interested to audition. Singers have ranged from ages 17-60. Our singers are at a very high level of performance but tend to have very different performance backgrounds and experience.
Q: Are scholarships available?
A: We believe that where there is a will, there is a way. If money is an issue, we will do our best to work with you to make VIP possible.
Q: I have no experience in classical singing. Is it even worth it for me to audition for VIP?
A: Absolutely! This program encompasses all styles of singing. VIP singers are always very diverse. Some singers focus more on musical theatre. Some focus more on classical singing. Some focus more on Jazz and Contemporary Commercial Music. This is not a cookie-cutter program. Eclectic might as well be VIP’s middle name!
Q: I only have experience in classical singing. Is it even worth it for me to audition for VIP?
A: Absolutely! This program encompasses all styles of singing. VIP singers are always very diverse. Some singers faocus for on musical theatre. Some focus more on classical voice. Some focus more on Jazz and Contemporary Commercial Music. This is not a cookie-cutter program. Eclectic might as well be VIP’s middle name!
Q: Do I have to sing in multiple styles to be part of VIP?
A: Not at all! We want you to be the singer that you want to be. We understand that many fantastic singers do not cross over into other genres. We do however encourage versatility and open-mindedness while staying true to who you are as an artist. Authenticity is key, but so it exploring. With that said, many singers at VIP have only sung classically – and many singers have only sung contemporary music. Yet, most of our singers tend to explore different styles throughout week. We will support you either way.
Q: I don’t live in Connecticut. Is housing available?
A: Yes. There are bedrooms that are available for VIP Singers.
